چکیده
Accurately predicting the surface finish of fused deposition modeling (FDM) parts is an important task for engineering application FDM technology. So far, many prediction models have been proposed by establishing a mapping relationship between printing parameters and roughness. Each model can work well in its specific context; however, existing cannot meet requirements multi-factor multi-category cope with imbalanced data. Aiming at these issues, method based on combination adaptive particle swarm optimization K-nearest neighbor (APSO-KNN) algorithms this paper. Seven input variables, including nozzle diameter, layer thickness, number perimeters, flow rate, print speed, temperature, build orientation, are considered. The values each specimen determined using L27 Taguchi experimental design. A total 27 specimens printed data used training validation. results indicate that achieve minimum classification error 0.01 after two iterations, maximum accuracy 99.0%, high efficiency. It multiple factors categories handle In addition, demonstrates potential finish, actual industrial manufacturing.

Methods to Improve Surface Finish of Parts Produced by Fused Deposition Modeling
Fused deposition modeling (FDM) is one of the rapid prototyping technologies that can use plastic material, which can be effectively used for making patterns for investment casting. The surface finish of the investment casting depends upon the surface finish of the pattern. But the surface finish of the parts produced by using FDM is not very good as compared to wax patterns, which are conventi...

متن کاملStrengthening of 3D Printed Fused Deposition Manufactured Parts Using the Fill Compositing Technique
In this paper, we present a technique for increasing the strength of thermoplastic fused deposition manufactured printed parts while retaining the benefits of the process such as ease, speed of implementation, and complex part geometries. By carefully placing voids in the printed parts and filling them with high-strength resins, we can improve the overall part strength and stiffness by up to 45...
متن کاملSome Investigations Regarding the Surface Treatment of Ultem*9085 Parts Manufactured with Fused Deposition Modeling
Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) parts are typically subject to process-related rough or wavy surfaces, with stair-stepping effects whenever the parts produced have sloped or rounded part geometries; however, the level of optical quality frequently required demands that parts feature a smooth surface. In this paper, the results of a high-energy finishing process, which uses a disc finishing unit...
متن کاملCurved Layer Fused Deposition Modeling
Current Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technologies deposit material as flat layers. The result is a “stair-case” effect on non-vertical or horizontal surfaces, and compromised part strength because of weakness between the laminations. This paper describes a FDM method through which layers of build material are deposited as curved layers following the shape of the part, thus removing the stair...
